The floating village
My travels over the past few years to Cambodia, and the people I've met will always remain in my heart.
When in Phnom Penh, I went to visit an Orphanage in the middle of the slum area surrounded by wooden shacks, Called "The Cambodian Light Childerns Assocation" run by Pat Noun an ex-Buddhist monk. Many of the orphans have lost parents to AIDS, land-mines,drugs or prostitution.
When I was there I could see the amazing work that was been under taken by Pat and his volunteer helpers, whose aim is to alleviate the poverty of the poor and street orphans by feeding, housing and preparing them for a better life, through love and education.

I spent all my time working in the orphanages with other volunteers, and unlike other charities there is no big NGO providing funds, no government support, no full time paid charity workers, so without financial support it is increasingly difficult to maintain this orphanage which survives only from day to day.

If you would like to support the orphanage ,you can visit the "Cambodian arts" section on this web site , any item you add to your shopping cart in this section ,all the proceeds go directly to the orphanage fund.

I would love to see these beautiful orphans have a better quality of life, and not to worry about where their next meal is coming from,

With your support we can all make a difference in a child's life. Thank you for your kindness.
